We just need to find that stupid explanation and understand it but yeah we're stuck with all this bs like what is mass or why there are 3 dimensions in space or whatever. We know there are four fundamental forces of nature, gravity being one, but the others still elude us (and physicists love explaining things by saying "it's a theory" or "we don't fully understand it yet"). But we're gonna figure it out, no need to worry.
And you wanna understand what happened before Big Bang? Well we know that our universe came from something and it's called the multiverse. So we just need to find how it happened or even better when did this process start. We can't really say "oh there's the big bang, then boom 13 billion years later we're here", no idea what was happening in between.
There are also dark matter and energy that makes up a huge amount of our universe but we don't know anything about them either. And black holes, why do they exist? And we have the problem with time travel, it would imply reversing entropy (the second law of thermodynamics) or just break causality which means you could go back in time and change your parents from when you were conceived.
